Ashlynn's Baptism

On February 19, 2012, Ashlynn was baptized at our church, Main Street United Methodist Church. It was such a wonderful service. Michael and I are very blessed to have found such a welcoming church family and just wish we had joined sooner!

Week 7

I spent most of this week preparing for Ashlynn's baptism lunch at our house, so, I didn't that many photos, but the grandparents took several.

Mommy and Daddy went on a date night with all our church friends. Grandma and Grandpa came over to play with Ashlynn. They captured a great smile on camera!

Week 6

Michael went out of town for the first time on Monday of this week. I asked Grandma Terri to come stay with me and Ashlynn that night just in case. We didn't need anything, but it was nice to have company. I did really appreciate that he doesn't have to travel like he used to. I can't imagine him missing out on so much of Ashlynn's life. It seems like she changes every day!

On Monday, we went to a lactation appointment. One of the cool things about the appointment is they weigh the baby before eating and after eating. I was SHOCKED to find out that Ashlynn ate almost 7 ounces in one feeding! No wonder she weighed 8 lbs 12 oz already!

In addition to our visit from Crystal and Mitchell Tuesday, we had a visit from Grandpa Date, a play date with Lauren and Alexandra Thursdary, and a play date with Tiffany & Ruby Friday. Sadly, we didn't get an pictures with Alexandra and Ruby. I think it is so neat to have friends with girls so close in age to Ashlynn. Alexandra is 11 days younger and Ruby is five weeks younger. I hope that they all grow up to be friends.

Mommy wanted to see what I thought of my crib. I look so tiny, but am checking it all out.

Momma! I'm not really liking this, although it makes a great pink backdrop for photos!

I'm such a sweetie! My momma loves to watch me sleep, she really loves my pouty little mouth.

We were so excited that Mitchell and Auntie Crystal came for a playdate. The babies ate, Nana came over to see Mitchell and Crystal, then us mommies got to eat, too. It was very appropriate that Ashlynn's first trip out to eat was with Crystal at the Loop, one of our favorite places to eat in college. Ashlynn was perfect at the restaurant...meaning she slept the whole time :)

After lunch we had a little photo shoot. Ashlynn had to have a wardrobe change! :)

Week 5

My first shopping trip! I was so good for mommy and nana.

I am One Month Old!

February 2, 2012 - One Month!

Dear Ashlynn,

I can't believe you are one month old already! I am amazed at how much you've changed in such a short time and how much you've changed daddy's and my life. We really can't even remember life without you, it certainly wasn't complete. You are already holding your head up on your own most of the time. You also stand up while we are holding you, which is quite impressive for your young age...at least daddy and I think so!

Your sleeping at night has improved quite a bit since our first week at home. That week daddy thought you turned into a gremlin at midnight, obviously the cutest little gremlin in the world, but a gremlin none the less. :) Now, you usually sleep for about four hours between feedings at night. I never thought that sleeping for three hours straight could feel like a long time!!

You are very obviously your mommy's daughter...you are turning into quite the drama queen. On your one month birthday, you actually threw your pacifier at me during a fit, it was definitely an accident, you can't actually pick things up yet. When you are having a meltdown you throw your arms and head at my chest. You also love to be held and have your head, back and feet rubbed...just like me.

Ashlynn your daddy and I love you very much and have had the best month ever since you were born.
