March 2, 2012 - Two Months!

Dear Ashlynn,
You are just the sweetest baby and I can't describe how much I love you. You are starting to smile, and it is so, so cute! You smiled for the first time on Sunday, February 5 at your Grandpa Tim & Grandma Terri. You smiled at me for the first time the next morning. I loved it. You didn't smile at daddy for another week or two. They say baby smiles at this stage are equal for everyone, but I like to pretend you smile the most at me...and daddy.

You started cooing this month and it is ADORABLE! I read that you are learning vowels and can repeat them, so I say them too you a lot. Nana said I look like an orangutan talking to her baby, I don't care though, I just love that you coo at me when I do it. O is your favorite.

You are a great eater and slept through the night a couple times, interestingly, both on Friday nights after very rough evenings. By Friday, you are just so fussy...Daddy asked me if you'd had a long week at work :). We wonder if you slept through the night those nights because you were exhausted after crying so much the night before. It makes us so sad when you cry, but usually we can make you happy fairly quickly.

It is amazing how big you are! At your two-month doctor visit, you weighed 12 pounds 2 ounces and were 23.5 inches long. I can't believe you are almost two feet tall and have gained more than 4 1/2 pounds in just two months. You are in the 86th percentile for weight and 93rd percentile for length. You were so brave during your shots, but it broke my heart to see you in pain.

I love all of the ways you are growing and changing, but it also makes me sad how quickly time is moving. I'm trying to pause and enjoy every minute even when it's hard. Seeing your little smile makes everything better. Love you lots and lots!

Love,
Momma

Peter and Kim brought us dinner.
Isn't this a tummy time mat? Why isn't Ashlynn on her tummy...because she HATES it!

Auntie Emily, Momma & Ashlynn.
Ashlynn's holding on tight to make sure Emily keeps holding her.

Ashlynn's Baptism

On February 19, 2012, Ashlynn was baptized at our church, Main Street United Methodist Church. It was such a wonderful service. Michael and I are very blessed to have found such a welcoming church family and just wish we had joined sooner!

Week 7

I spent most of this week preparing for Ashlynn's baptism lunch at our house, so, I didn't that many photos, but the grandparents took several.

Ashlynn loves bouncing on daddy's legs.
Ashlynn visited with Nana and Papa so Mommy could go to the gym on Valentine's Day.
I love this picture of Ashlynn and Nana
Isn't the shirt Nana made for Ashlynn so cute?!?
I just love that she's getting so chubby and rolly! :)
Visiting with Dr. B at momma's six-week checkup. All the nurses loved holding Ashynn.
Mommy and Daddy went on a date night with all our church friends. Grandma and Grandpa came over to play with Ashlynn. They captured a great smile on camera!
